Restaurant Violates COVID-19 Ordinances; BLM Graffiti: Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS

Alexis Jorge Garcia, 19, of the 900 block of Charlena Lane, Elk Grove Village, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane usage, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 3:40 a.m. June 21 at Route 83 and Arlington Heights Road. He was given a $3,000 bond and a court date of July 15.
DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

- Victor Barruch Mucino, 26, of the 1800 block of N Delaney, Gurnee, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, operating an uninsured car, no muffler, and was arrested at 6:47 p.m. June 25 at Aptakisic and Parkway. He was given a bond of $3,000 and has a court date of July 17 in Mundelein.
- Iziah Iwan Rice, 32, of the 500 block of Sheridan Road, Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, speeding over the statutory limit, and was arrested at 5:42 p.m. June 23 in the 700 block of Corporate Grove Drive. He was given a $2,500 bond and a court date of July 17 in Waukegan.

INCIDENTS
PUBLIC COMPLAINT/ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS
Police responded to the area of the Pauline Avenue and Buckingham Lane at 1:14 a.m. June 20 for a loud music complaint. It was discovered the music was coming from Versailles Banquets, 100 McHenry Road. Police found the outdoor seating area open with around 15-20 customers congregating in the area. The customers were seen drinking alcohol, smoking and socializing, according to police. Three waiters were also seen within 6 feet of customers not wearing face protection. The owner told police he thought he could stay open until 2 a.m. because he has a 2 a.m. liquor license. Inside the business, police found additional customers standing around the bar without face protection.
NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE
A resident in the 400 block of Gardenia Lane reported at 10:19 p.m. June 25 their concern over new security cameras on the side of their neighbor's house facing their property. The resident said the floodlights connected to them disturb his family by shining in the windows. The resident was also concerned the cameras were pointed at his home. Following an investigation, police told the resident that the devices appeared to be placed reasonably and the neighbor has the right to protect their property as such.
VANDALISM
- An officer on patrol in the 1000 block of Johnson Drive at 10:48 a.m. June 24 noticed an electrical box spray-painted with graffiti on multiple sides near a residence.
- Police were called to the intersection of Raupp Boulevard ad Mohawk Trail at 7:01 p.m. June 22 for a vandalism complaint. "BLM" was spray-painted in black on the roadway at the northeast of the intersection.
ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A driver in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, 1165 Weiland Road, called police at 4:55 p.m. June 23 to report that while sitting in their parked car, the driver next to them opened their door, striking the driver's front-passenger door. Both parties exchanged information and agreed to settle the issue between themselves.
PUBLIC COMPLAINT
A resident in the 600 block of Grove Drive reported at 10:34 a.m. June 24 that when they were not home, the maintenance people went on the roof of their building and cleaned it. When cleaning, they three many of the "whirlybirds" down from the roof into the area of the association property where the resident plants flowers. The resident feels the maintenance workers did it on purpose. Police told the resident to take up the matter with the homeowner's association.
FRAUD
- A Sussex Court resident called police at 2:10 p.m. June 23 to report her father, who resides with her, and she cares for, received a suspicious phone call. She overheard her father giving out personal information and picked up the phone to inquire. The caller told the resident they were with the Social Security Administration. They said her father's social security number had been compromised and would be suspended temporarily until the matter could be cleared up. When the resident asked the caller for more information on their identity, the caller got angry and told her to "shut up" before hanging up on her.
- An Estate Drive resident reported at 4:58 p.m. June 23 that they gave $1,500 over the phone to someone they thought was with the federal government. The caller told the resident their personal information had been compromised in California, and the money was needed to clear their name or there would be a warrant for the resident's arrest.
