BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

  • Jorge A. Martinez, 39, of the 1400 block of Hervey Avenue, North Chicago, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle, expired registration, and was arrested at 2:56 a.m. Sept. 28, at Deerfield Parkway and Commerce Court. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 12.
  • Jesus Hernandez, 24, of the 300 block of Charabanc Lane, Wheeling, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, window tint, and was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Sept. 28, at Buffalo Grove Road and St. Mary's Parkway. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 12.

UNLICENSED DRIVER

Ricky T. Russell, 26, of the 1000 block of Deerfield Parkway, Waukegan, is accused of being an unlicensed driver, illegal lane usage, and was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Sept. 29, at Weiland Road and Pauline Avenue. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 12.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Joshua D. Miralgio, 36, of the 100 block of Drake Lane, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, expired registration, failure to reduce speed, possession of 10 grams of marijuana, and was arrested at 3:47 p.m, Sept. 29, at Woodman's, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway. He was assigned a court date of Oct. 20.

INCIDENTS

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

  • A resident in the 300 block of Raupp Boulevard reported at 7:05 a.m. Oct. 1, that someone turned on their outside water faucet. They believed it had been running for about an hour before a passer-by turned it off.
  • A person called at 1 a.m. Sept. 25, to report a female walking in the middle of the road at Arlington Heights and Beechwood roads. The caller stopped to speak to the woman, but she got into another car before answering his question. He was concerned for her safety. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the woman and the driver. They confirmed she knew the driver and they did not need police assistance.
  • A resident in the 500 block of Highland Grove Drive reported at 8:50 p.m. Sept. 25, that someone rang his doorbell and knocked on his front door. When he looked outside, no one was there. He opened his door and found a small plastic bottle of curry on the ground.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

An Oak Creek Drive resident called police at 8 a.m. Oct. 1, to report falling victim to a scam. The resident believed she was pursuing a new occupation with someone she was communicating with. The person sent her a check and requested that she used it to purchase gift cards. The gift cards were purchased and the information sent to the person. The received check turned out to be fraudulent. The person called while the resident was speaking with the officer and promptly hung up once the officer got on the phone.

NEIGHBORHOOD TROUBLE

  • A resident in the 200 block of Oak Court West reported at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 1, that a resident was watching inappropriate movies on his television with his blinds open. Officers met with the resident and he closed his binds.
  • A resident in the 1000 block of Miller Lane called police at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27, to report another resident has been yelling at them whenever they park their car. Contact was made with the other resident and they were asked to stop yelling.

THEFT

  • A mountain bike, valued under $500, was stolen during the overnight hours of Sept. 27 in the 400 block of Chatham Circle.
  • A resident in the 0-100 block of Villa Verde reported at 3:33 p.m. Sept. 24, items had been taken from a package delivered to her condo's mailroom. The package was found open and its contents were missing.

ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A resident in the 700 block of Checker Drive reported at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 25, that their mailbox had been damaged at some time overnight.

LANDLORD/TENANT DISPUTE

A complainant called police at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 25, to report they quit working for the company and agreed to move out of the company's apartment, 500 block of Aptakisic Road. She returned to gather belongings and discovered the lock had been changed. She was provided a different date to pick up her stuff by management.

BATTERY

A verbal confrontation took place inside Woodmans Grocery, 1550 E. Deerfield Parkway, when a customer approached another about not wearing their mask correctly. During the encounter, the customer who was accused of not wearing the mask properly was struck by the cart being pushed by a member of the other party. No complaints were signed.

DOG BITE

A jogger called police at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 24, to report a leashed dog lunged and made contact with them as they ran by the dog and its owner, who were standing on the sidewalk.

HOME INVASION

A resident in the 300 block of Horatio Boulevard reported at 2:50 p.m. Sept. 24, they called 911 because someone had just broken into her home. The caller hid in the house and could hear them talking. Officers responded to find forced entry through the front door and the subjects had already left. The resident reported that she originally heard someone knocking on the front door, but she didn't call 911 and hid upstairs. Police were still investigating the incident at the time of the report.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

The manager of Lux Cars Chicago, 88 E. Dundee Road, reported at 11 p.m. Sept. 24, he found a smashed rear window on one of his vehicles.
