• 256 Apartments, New Retail Planned In Chase Plaza Redevelopment (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove residents could see a major transformation at Chase Plaza, where developers are proposing 256 new apartments, a parking garage, and upgraded retail at Lake Cook and Arlington Heights roads. Village leaders say the project advances the long-term Lake Cook Corridor vision and would turn a long-struggling gateway property into a more vibrant, mixed-use destination. The plan still needs formal approvals, including zoning changes and potential TIF-related agreements. 
• Anonymous 'Swatting' Calls Prompt Weapon Search At Buffalo Grove High School (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove High School briefly went into a Secure and Teach after anonymous calls reported a student might have a weapon in a restroom, prompting a thorough police search. Officers, assisted by Arlington Heights police, found no weapon and deemed the threat not credible, allowing classes to continue. Buffalo Grove police plan an increased presence at the school for the rest of the day to reassure students and staff.
