Plumber Pretends To Be Cop, Scolds Bad Parking At Store: Blotter
The incident happened in the parking lot of Woodman's Food Market: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
ARRESTS

- Jennifer Salazar Garcia, 18, of the 100 block of Nasa Circle, Round Lake, is accused of driving under the influence, speeding over the statutory limit, and was arrested at 5 a.m. Oct. 31, at Arlington Heights Road and Bernard. She was assigned a court date of Nov. 15.
- Eddy Velez, 31, of the 30 block of Buckingham, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence, and was arrested at 4:44 a.m. Nov. 6, at Lake Cook Road and Raupp Boulevard. He was assigned a court date of Dec. 8.
- Santos Dioni Cardenas Benegas, 36, of the 1300 block of Baldwin Lane, Palatine, is accused of driving under the influence, lighted lamps violation, and was arrested at 11:27 p.m. Nov. 12, at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads. He was assigned a court date of Nov. 29.
- Jose F. Blancas Reyes, 36, of the 600 block of Sycamore Road, Buffalo Grove, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 5:50 p.m. Nov. 16, in the 200 block of W. Dundee Road. He was assigned a court date of Dec. 30.
SPEEDING
Robert C. Cebula, 28, of the 1000 block of Queens Lane, Glenview, is accused of speeding 35 mph over the speed limit, and was arrested at 7:10 p.m. Nov. 13, at Lake Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue. He was assigned a court date of Dec. 10.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE
Jessie Hernandez, 29, of the 1300 block of Ely Court, Wheeling, is accused of driving on a suspended/revoked license, violation of a traffic control signal (red), and was arrested at 12:49 a.m. Nov. 3, at Buffalo Grove and Short Aptakisic roads. He was assigned a court date of Dec. 10.
- A person in the 600 block of Pinehurst reported on Oct. 31 someone made an obscene gesture toward him. Officers made contact with the subject, who refused to provide any information or talk about the incident.
- A person called police at 4:19 p.m. Nov. 15, to report they were approached by someone who told them they needed to move their parked vehicle at Woodman's, 1500 E. Deerfield Parkway. During the conversation, the party asking him to move his car identified himself as a police officer, but left driving a plumbing truck. Officers made contact with the driver of the plumbing truck and confirmed he was not a police officer, but a plumber who was frustrated with people improperly parking. He said he understood he made a bad decision and apologized for his actions.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
- A resident of the 2100 block of Brandywyn called police at 12:17 p.m. Oct. 31, to report their catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle while it was parked on the driveway overnight.
- An employee reported at 2 p.m. Nov. 4, that her catalytic converter was stolen from her vehicle and several wires underneath were cut while the car was parked in her work's parking lot in the 1300 block of Barclay Boulevard.
- A person called police at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5, to report their catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle at sometime during the afternoon in the 1200 block of Deerfield Parkway.
- A resident of the 1400 block of Mill Creek Drive reported at 8 p.m. Nov. 1, someone removed the catalytic converter off their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
- A resident of the 400 block of Cedar Court S. called police at 12:17 p.m. Nov. 1, to report their catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
- A resident of the 1100 block of Johnson Drive reported at 11 p.m. Nov. 1, their catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway overnight.
DISTURBANCE
Two customers at Jewel, 79 N. McHenry Road, got into a verbal confrontation at 11:32 a.m. Nov. 15, and shouted very loudly, while calling each other names.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
A person reported at 3:15 a.m. Nov. 6, her purse was stolen from her unlocked, parked car at Nicole Park, 501 N. Arlington Heights Road.
CUSTOMER/MANAGEMENT DISPUTE
A customer at Granke Jakes, 799 Buffalo Grove Road, reported at 7:45 p.m. Nov. 13, a dispute with the restaurant's owner.
ORDINANCE VIOLATION
A resident in the 600 block of Stanford Lane called police at 8:46 a.m. Nov. 12, to report a neighbor was blowing leaves onto the roadway. The alleged leaf blower was not home at the time of the call. They denied deliberately blowing the leaves, saying he had just left them in piles and went to work. Officers were called back to the address later in the day due to yelling back and forth.
STRAY ANIMAL
A friendly orange cat in the 500 block of Coventry Lane was turned over to police at 10:02 a.m. Nov. 12. The cat was checked for a microchip and the person registered was contacted. She told the officer she was no longer the owner of the cat and did not have information on the current one. The cat was taken to the kennel, where it will be held for five days.
