Police Blotter: Shoplifter Caught on Video

Jose A. Unzueta, 19, of the 400 block of West Garfield, Mundelein, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:35 a.m. April 12 on the 1600 block of Lake-Cook Road.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident reported April 11 that his income taxes were rejected when he attempted to file electronically. The IRS advised the resident that someone used the resident’s name and Social Security number to file taxes. The IRS stopped payment on that refund check. The resident has contacted the Social Security administration and the credit bureaus.

THEFT

A loss prevention official at reported capturing a person on video stealing DVDs. The loss prevention official recognized the woman as a previous shoplifter, and supplied a name to the officer. The official wishes to sign complaints for retail theft and an investigator will follow up.
