Buffalo Grove High School's Concert and Symphonic Bands will present a Winter Concert on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the school's Miller Theater. Director of Bands Edward Jacobi will be joined at the podium by student teacher Chihiro Kashiwakura. Featured guest performers on the program will be 8th grade students from local schools who will join the high school musicians on stage for the concert's finale, “Instant Concert” by Harold Walters. Other highlights will include Frank Ticheli's “Abracadabra,” Frank Erickson's “Toccata for Band,” Samuel Hazo's “Ascend,” Morton Gould’s “American Salute,” Wolfgang Mozart's “Marriage of Figaro,” Herold’s “Zampa Overture,” a special arrangement of “76 Trombones March,” and Johann Strauss' “Radetzky March.” Before the concert, 8th grade families will join high school families in a dinner provided by the Buffalo Grove Instrumental Association.
