Vernon Hills, Ill. –State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, is co-hosting a free Financial Aid and Scholarship Seminar with the College of Lake County (CLC) and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) on Monday, February 24, from 6 to 7 p.m. at CLC’s Southlake campus, located at 1120 S. Milwaukee Ave. in Vernon Hills.
“In an increasingly competitive job market, the value of obtaining a college degree is rapidly rising along with the importance of having access to an affordable education,” Sente said. “I am hopeful that this event will help prospective students to navigate the intimidating financial aid process and learn more about the resources available to make their college degree more affordable.”
Parents and students are invited to learn more about the financial aid process, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and student loans, as well as grants and scholarships. Information to help students afford a college degree will be facilitated by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and the College of Lake County.
