Sente Event Spells S-U-C-C-E-S-S

State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, co-sponsored her second annual local edition of the Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee with the Sedgebrook retirement community and the Illinois Department of Aging on Monday afternoon.

“I was very impressed with the contestants who took the stage this year to showcase their spelling abilities, and enjoyed cheering them on with their peers from the crowd,” Sente said. “It was wonderful to see some of our spellers from last year's event returning for another chance as well as new participants all vying to be one of the 59th District's top spellers. I hope our champions will continue to make our community proud as they progress to the next level of the competition.”

The first place winner, Ruth Glass, and runner-up, Arthur Bauman, from Sente’s Local Edition of the Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee, will advance to the Regional Competition where they will be up against champions from other areas for a chance to compete at this year’s finals at the Illinois State Fair.

For more information, please contact Sente’s full-time constituent service office at (847) 478-9909, or email RepSente@gmail.com.
