SUV Stolen Overnight From Driveway: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

Police said the car was recovered the next day in Zion, but items were missing, according to the owner.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Nickey Dashon Geater, 28, of Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 11:55 p.m. July 7, in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, Wheeling. They were also cited for tinted windows. They were released after paying a $2,500 bond and were assigned a court date of Aug. 19.
  • Gwendolyn Gamble, 43, of Wheeling, is accused of driving on a suspended license, expired registration, and was arrested 5 p.m. July 8, at Dundee and Arlington Heights roads. She was released after posting a $2,500 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 19.
  • Sergio Arturo Lara, 27, of Hawthorn Woods, is accused of driving on a suspended license, driving 15-20 mph over the speed limit (45 mph in a 25 mph zone), and was arrested at 4:33 p.m. July 12, in the 100 block of Pauline Avenue. A court date of Aug. 19 was assigned.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident in the 1300 block of Berkley Court reported that during the overnight hours of July 13, their SUV was stolen from the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered in Zion on the same day. Personal items had been taken from the car.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • Police responded to the area of the 0-20 block of E. Dundee Road at 3:39 p.m. July 9, for a report of a broken window on the back of an abandoned building. The window break was big enough to let a person inside, but the complainant didn't think anyone had entered. Police found two rocks and a boulder inside the structure.
  • Police were doing routine premise checks at 4:41 p.m. July 11, of the empty dealerships in the 900 block of W. Dundee Road when they noticed a broken glass door on the east side of the building. Upon entry, police found everything inside was in order.
