The 7th annual fundraiser for Wheeling High School's literary magazine, Circus, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9, at Barnes & Noble in Arlington Heights. Barnes & Noble will contribute to Circus a percentage of every sale made that day with a voucher, which is located on the WHS website. If shoppers use the book fair number on the voucher at another Barnes & Noble location or online at www.banresandnoble.com, a percentage of the proceeds also will be donated to Circus. Circus staff is partnering with Barnes & Noble to sponsor this event to raise enough funds to continue providing a free magazine copy to every WHS student, as well as print more art pages in color. Circus showcases Wheeling’s student poetry, prose, and art.
Additionally, Circus staff will work with the high school’s social workers again to gather wish lists from less fortunate children in the Wheeling area. Shoppers may use this list to donate items to the holiday drive. Circus students also are hosting age appropriate events, such as story time.
