BURR RIDGE, IL – A Burr Ridge resident last week complained to the Village Board about a trucking company behind her house in the 8400 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

Resident Anna Gasior said the company's truckers park in the back of the building and run their trucks around the clock, creating noise and pollution. The firm is on South Frontage Road.

Gasior also said the truck drivers use Meadowbrook, damaging the street.

She did not name the company, but a number of trucking firms are in that area of South Frontage Road. They include the companies where police said a man shot two workers last month, killing one and wounding the other before taking his own life.

She said the killing was a new worry, saying she was at her "breaking point." She asked what the village would do about it.

Mayor Gary Grasso noted he had been to Gasior's house to see the issues firsthand.

"I thought it had been resolved," Grasso said. "I haven't heard back from you for a long time, but you're probably just enduring it at this point."

The mayor promised to start with the police department and get the history of the situation.

"We'll go back to the trucking company, and if they have to be cited, they will be cited," Grasso said. "We'll try to solve it for you."

Gasior said the company has been cited before and paid the fines, then continued its violations.

"It's been a nightmare for the last four years," she said.
