The Falcons traveled to South Elgin on Sept. 28 to play the Patriots and walked away with a 21-0 win.

The Falcons offense was clicking on all cylinders when they had five different players score. Joey Antonietti scored the first touchdown with a quarter back keeper. Tommy Skokna recovered the Patriots fumble to give the Falcons the second offensive series. Sean Allison and Steven Schnur rushed the Falcons down the field; Billy O’Malley’s 15 yard run scored the second touchdown. David Laughter connected with Tommy Skokna for the two point conversion.

Jack Levine, Billy O’Malley and Joey Antonietti ran for a bunch of yardage and Carter Lyons made the catch and kept the offense moving. Ultimately, David Laughter completed the touchdown pass with Tommy Skokna, and Jack Levine ran in the extra point. After three touchdowns in the first half, the Falcons led 21-0.

The defensive front of Steven Schnur, AJ Panos and Mikey Hinchman made it very difficult for the Patriots to find any rhythm. The defensive tackles played to prevent the first down, because each offensive drive by South Elgin was minimized by Mason Shaker, JP Sporleder, Zach Hayes, Elliot Harris and Calum Kelly. Carter Lyons, Vinny Galassi, and Lynden McCarroll effectively stopped their passing game.

Joey Antonietti and Vinny Galassi found space for the running during the second half, but South Elgin’s defense prevented the Falcons from scoring in the second half. The win brought Falcons 93 Gold team winning streak to five games.
