HUD Rule Change Impacts Burr Ridge-Based Real Estate Group

Fallout continues from DuPage Housing Authority Audits.

A Burr Ridge-based apartment management company is at the center of the ongoing battle between the DuPage Housing Authority and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

According to The Daily Herald, the , based in Burr Ridge, manages the Rose Glen and Myers Commons apartments in Roselle and Darien. Those apartment complexes are under contract for Section-8 Housing. The DuPage Housing Authority has misspent or misappropriated $10 million in federal funding, according to a federal audit. Approximately $2.6 million went to the two housing units managed by the Stough Group, the Daily Herald reported.

As a result, HUD is changing the way it will distribute vouchers and send them directly to the tenants rather than the management company.
