Mayor Asked To Step Down For 'Politicizing Sterigenics Situation'

Three members of the Burr Ridge Village Board have called for Mayor Zach Mottl's resignation.

BURR RIDGE, IL - Mayor Zach Mottl was asked by three members of the Burr Ridge Village Board this week to step down, claiming he politicized the position regarding the Sterigenics situation. Board members Guy Franzese, Al Paveza and Tony Schiappa made the call during Monday's village meeting, according to a report from The Doings.

The trustees' issue is with Mottl stating in a news release that he authorized Burr Ridge to join Willowbrook and Darien in seeking an injunction against Sterigenics. Paveza said that the entire board authorized the action, but that Mottl is using it as part of his campaign for mayor.
