• Quarterback competition, new-look backfield for Chargers' offense (whig.com) — Illini West football fans in Carthage can expect a lively quarterback battle between Liam Murphy and Cordell Vehmeier as the Chargers rebuild their offense for the new season. With a revamped backfield led by junior speedster Kinnick Bliss and several returning receivers and linemen, coaches say they're shifting to a more spread attack to get multiple playmakers involved.
