Casket Company Suing Joliet Funeral Director

An Indiana casket company went after a Joliet funeral director a week after it sued a Frankfort funeral home.

The Batesville Casket Company filed a lawsuit against Joseph J. Tapella and Joseph J. Tapella Funeral Services. The casket company is suing Tapella in Will County court.

Tapella stiffed Batesville Casket Company out of $34,932.44 worth of “funeral-related goods, wares and merchandise,” according to the lawsuit.

Last week, Batesville Casket Company sued Gerardi Funeral Home and Eugene J. Gerardi, claiming the Lincoln Highway funeral parlor failed to pay a promissory note for $53,987.02.
