Minooka Woman Charged After Leading Deputies on High-Speed Chase: Police

53-year-old motorist allegedly fled after a deputy attempted to stop her for speeding, cops said.

A Minooka woman allegedly clocked driving 112 mph in a 55 mph zone was arrested after leading Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase, according to police.

At around 4:25 p.m. Sunday, deputies attempted to stop Karen Juergens, 53, of the 1400 block of Plantain Drive, near Route 47 and Joliet Road, but she allegedly sped away, heading south on Route 47 toward Grundy County, police said.

A Grundy County deputy eventually stopped Juergens near Route 47 and I-80 in Morris, and she was taken into custody.

Juergens was charged with felony fleeing and eluding police speeding 35 mph or more over the limit, according to sheriff’s police. She was also cited for disobeying a stop sign, passing in a no-passing zone and speeding in a construction zone, police said.
