• More than $1 million in federal funds secured for Will County Lake Michigan water project (shawlocal.com) — Channahon households are slated to receive treated Lake Michigan water by 2030 through the Grand Prairie Water Commission, which just secured over $1 million in new federal funding. The money supports key pipeline and delivery structures linking Channahon and neighboring towns to Chicago's water system, part of a $1.5 billion regional project aimed at replacing stressed groundwater supplies.
   

• Louis Goode 'Was Going To Kill Her By Slitting Her Throat' After Squeezing Her Neck: Prosecutors (patch.com) — Prosecutors have filed multiple domestic battery and aggravated battery charges against Louis Goode following a May incident in Crest Hill, while also outlining his prior Will County cases. Goode is repeatedly identified as a Channahon resident, and a judge has allowed his release with treatment, monitoring conditions, and a ban on unlawful contact with the alleged victim.
   

• Flotsam River Circus In Henry, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6 p.m. Main Street Boat Ramp At Waterworks Park (henrynews-republican.com) — A free Flotsam River Circus show is coming to Channahon on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. at the Four Rivers Environmental Education Center, offering music, puppetry, and circus acts from a floating stage on the Illinois River. Families are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets, arrive early due to limited parking, and enjoy this one-of-a-kind riverfront performance.
