Police Seek Help Identifying Body Found In Kankakee River
An autopsy was conducted Monday.

WILMINGTON, IL — Illinois State Police are asking for the public's help identifying a female in her late teens or early 20s found in the Kankakee River in Wilmington over the weekend. According to police, a homeowner found the body in the water near a residence in the 29000 block of Readman Lane at around 11:20 a.m. Saturday. The Will County coroner's office initially said the remains were found on the shore.
An autopsy was conducted Monday, and the results are pending further lab analysis, police said. The autopsy did not uncover a conclusive cause of death, according to the coroner's office.
Police said the remains are that of a light-skinned female who was about 5 feet tall and 102 pounds, with red and brown hair, brown eyes, two piercings in her right ear and one piercing in the left ear. She was wearing a black, one-piece Forever 21 bodysuit with a 3/4 chest zipper, size small.
