Hundreds Of Flights Canceled At Chicago Airports

A winter weather advisory has been issued for most of the Chicago area.

CHICAGO — More than 300 flights have been canceled at O'Hare as a mix of rain, sleet and snow hits the Chicago area. At least 50 flights were canceled at Midway.

Many flights have been delayed by close to an hour at both airports.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for most of the Chicago area from noon until midnight on Tuesday.

Total snow accumulations of up to three inches are expected for areas north of Chicago. Ice accumulations of more than one-tenth of an inch are expected for much of the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures are expected to gradually warm above freezing through the afternoon Tuesday.
