IL Surgeon Extradited To Ohio Where Ex-Wife, New Husband Were Killed: Sheriff
Michael McKee was indicted Friday on four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary.

ROCKFORD, IL — Michael McKee, the Chicago surgeon accused of killing his ex-wife and her new husband, is back in the state where the crime occurred. The 39-year-old was extradited Tuesday to Franklin County in Ohio, prior to a hearing that had been scheduled for later this week in Illinois.
McKee was arrested on Jan. 10 and booked into the Rockford jail in connection with the shooting deaths of Monique Tepe, 39, and Spencer Tepe, 37, who were found dead in Columbus's Weinland Park neighborhood on Dec. 30, according to court documents. The couple's two young children, both under the age of 5, were found physically unharmed inside the home.
McKee and Monique Tepe were married for about two years before they were divorced in 2017. They had no children together.

McKee, who resided in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood, was indicted Friday on four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary by a Franklin County grand jury. An extradition hearing for McKee, who had been seeking to return to the Buckeye State to face charges since his arrest, was scheduled to appear in Winnebago County court Friday.
According to The Columbus Dispatch, McKee's next court appearance will be in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, but it is unknown when that will be. The outlet said the court handles arrangements on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

McKee is accused of using a silencer or an automatic firearm, reports The Columbus Dispatch. At a news conference last week, Columbus Police Chief Elaine Bryant declined to discuss a motive in the case, but called the killings domestic-violence related.
"We believe at this point we have the person responsible for the murders of Monique and Spencer Tepe in custody," Bryant said of McKee. "This is still an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives are still going through evidence, tips and videos."
Police believe McKee drove to the couple's home in Columbus to carry out the murders, then drove back to Rockford, Illinois. A vehicle believed to be linked to the crimes was captured on surveillance video and traced to McKee, police said.
He was arrested by ATF agents in Rockford, reportedly at a Chick-fil-A restaurant not far from where he worked.
