Kim Foxx Calls For Any R. Kelly Accusers To Come Forward
The state's attorney said she's "sickened" by the allegations against the singer, and asked possible victims and witnesses to come forward.

CHICAGO — Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx held a news conference Tuesday in Chicago to discuss allegations against R. Kelly. The conference came after Lifetime's release of a damning documentary about the singer. Foxx said she found the allegations "deeply disturbing," and urged any possible witnesses or victims to talk to prosecutors.
"Please come forward," Foxx said. “We cannot seek justice without it.”
Foxx said she was "sickened" by the allegations when she watched the docuseries "Surviving R. Kelly."

"I was sickened as a survivor, I was sickened as a mother, I was sickened as a prosecutor," she said. "I worked in this office for a number of years, including in 2008, so the allegations were not new to me."
The docuseries began airing last week, and Foxx said her office has since received reports from relatives of women who have known Kelly. The family members were all from Cook County and the Chicago area, and were concerned about loved ones being possible victims.

"While we do not have any current complaints of misconduct, we strongly encourage anyone who may have information related to the domestic violence allegations, or who suspect or have information about wrongdoing on the part of officers, to please contact Internal Affairs or the external Office of Police Accountability or Chicago Inspector General’s Office so these matters can be independently investigated," Foxx said.
Multiple women in the six-part docuseries said they've been victims of a sex cult led by Kelly. Many came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct, abuse and pedophilia.
Kelly and his attorney have spent years denying the allegations.
"There's nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without cooperation between victims and witnesses," Foxx said. "We cannot do this without you," she urged.
Anyone with information about the allegations is asked to contact The Office of Inspector General, the Office of Police Accountability or the or the Cook County Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Unit at (773) 674-6492.
