At Least 6 Injured In West Town Hit-And-Run Crash

The driver fled on foot, leaving several people injured, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — Numerous people were injured overnight in a West Town crash, according to police.

The incident occurred just after midnight Tuesday in the 1700 block of West Augusta Boulevard, police said. Officers tried to stop a Kia that was speeding, and the driver accelerated after police activated their lights and sirens, according to authorities, who said the Kia struck a red sedan that was traveling west.

The driver fled on foot, leaving several people in the Kia with minor injuries that required transportation to a hospital, police said. Two men in the sedan also went to a hospital with minor injuries, according to police. WLS reported at least six victims were hurt.

No one was immediately taken into custody, police said.
