Lil Wayne Hospitalized After Suffering 'Multiple Seizures' In Chicago: Report

The rapper has reportedly canceled a planned Las Vegas show.

CHICAGO, IL — Lil Wayne was hospitalized in Chicago after suffering multiple seizures, his rep told TMZ on Sunday. The rapper reportedly canceled a scheduled Las Vegas performance after he was found unconscious in his room at the Michigan Avenue Westin hotel and rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

It's not the first time the hip-hop artist has had to cancel shows due to his ongoing struggle with epilepsy. After a 2013 health scare and hospitalization, Lil Wayne opened up about his epilepsy, telling an LA radio station, "This isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, y’all just never hear about them ... Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself."

TMZ reported that Lil Wayne's team tried to have him discharged on Sunday night to make his Vegas show, but doctors advised against it. The musician has suffered seizures while flying in the past.
