CHICAGO, IL — A loaded gun was found in an Indiana man's carry-on bag Thursday morning as he was going through security at Midway International Airport, according to the Transportation Security Administration.
Thomas Gillespie, 63, was arrested by Chicago police and charged with carrying a concealed firearm at an airport, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The 9mm firearm was found when TSA officers screened Gillespie's bag at a security checkpoint before he boarded a Minneapolis-bound flight, the agency said. Not only was the handgun loaded, it also had a bullet in its chamber.
