Name That Taste: Guess The Mystery Oreo Flavor, Win $50K

The brand says its new product contains "mystery flavored creme," but some customers claim it's not much of a secret.

From the double stuf variety (that, heartbreakingly, aren't really double stuffed) to banana split, birthday cake, watermelon and mint, Oreo has offered up a variety of flavor alternatives to the traditional chocolate wafers with sweet creme filling. Now, anyone with finely honed taste buds can try their hand at guessing Oreo's new "mystery flavor" for the chance to win cold, hard cash.

The snack brand — which sadly shut down Oreo production in Chicago last year — is offering a $50,000 grand prize to the person who can identify its new mystery flavor.

Now through Nov. 30, Oreo's parent company, Modelez International, is accepting entries from fans who think they can identify the "mystery flavored creme" filling. In addition to the grand prize, Oreo is offering five first prizes of $10,000 each.

While Oreo says the mystery flavor is a secret, some cookie-samplers said the taste is all too familiar, comparing it to popular fruity breakfast cereals.

And it seems everyone's a critic.

Oreo says there's no purchase necessary to enter the contest, which is open to residents of all 50 states and Puerto Rico ages 18 and older.
