Logan Square SWAT standoff lasts more than 9 hours on Labor Day (fox32chicago.com) — Logan Square residents were kept from their homes for hours on Labor Day as Chicago police and SWAT handled a nine-hour standoff near Kimball and Wrightwood after reports of a man with a rifle and a dog. Officers fired pepper balls, repeatedly warned of an active shooter, and struggled to keep bystanders behind police tape while details about injuries or charges remain unclear.
   

2. Beloved Chicago bookstore manager dies in south suburban crash: 'nearly impossible to to go on' (abc7chicago.com) — A longtime manager at Chicago's Bookie's bookstore, 57-year-old Rich Wojcikowski of Park Forest, was killed Friday in a crash on Governors Highway in University Park, leaving a grieving family and bookstore community. Colleagues say he was the backbone of the West Beverly shop, handling everything from operations to school book fairs, and plan a memorial book for customers to share memories when the store reopens.
   

3. OEMC employee murder suspect arrested 7 months after Chicago killing, authorities say (fox32chicago.com) — Seven months after OEMC employee Da'J Flowers was fatally shot in a Chicago apartment, authorities say they've arrested suspect Darreon Plummer near Seattle, a development her brother calls only the first step toward justice. The family is also mourning their mother, Surbezz Clark, killed as an innocent bystander on South Halsted, and vows to stay engaged through every stage of both cases.
   

4. Kanye West's Chicago Homecoming Concert: Everything That Happened at Ye's Greatest Show (complex.com) — Kanye West's massive homecoming show at Soldier Field packed in nearly 60 songs, surprise guests, and a highly emotional onstage reunion with Kid Cudi.
