Robert Morris University Illinois Honors Nursing Students
Sahar Kohistani of Aurora received her pin at the annual ceremony for nursing students.
The Robert Morris University Illinois School of Nursing and Health Studies is pleased to congratulate the 2017 Nursing Class. As the winter quarter comes to an end, a pinning ceremony was recently held on campus. The nursing students were honored for the completion of their clinical and classroom studies in anticipation of taking the NCLEX-RN examination.
Mablene Krueger, RMU president, spoke of the students’ commitment to service in a career that not only places considerable demand upon their abilities and knowledge, but is also a field that not many individuals
can or are willing to do. “The rigor of the nursing program is purposeful. We expect much of our students, and they continue to do us proud,” she said. “Reaching this point in your studies means you have said yes to
the long hours, the many tests, evaluations and certifications and using every minute of free time to study, study and study some more. Few people accept this calling, but remember that it is worth it. It is
worth it to your families, your classmates, and most of all, the future patients who will be in your care.”
Nursing faculty members Dr. Denise Gray, Jonell Benson-Cobbs, Tacora Love and Raegan Quandt participated in the ceremony by pinning their students. RMU Nursing alumna Gladys Perez of Downers Grove received the 2017 Distinguished Nursing Alumna Award.
