CHICAGO — A man wanted on charges including murder was fatally shot by an Amtrak police officer Tuesday evening after authorities said he opened fire. All trains were halted at Chicago's Union Station after Amtrak police shot the man inside the station, according to fire and railroad officials.
Amtrak police were notified by a law enforcement agency in California that a man with several active arrest warrants, including one for murder, was arriving at the station Tuesday evening, according to a statement provided by a railroad spokesperson.
