Person Fatally Stabbed On CTA Red Line

The victim was stabbed in the chest during an altercation with an unknown male in a train car, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — A person was fatally stabbed overnight in a train car, according to Chicago police.

The incident occurred about 3 a.m. Monday on the CTA's Red Line in the 200 block of West 63rd Street. The victim, a male, who police were unable to immediately identify, was stabbed in the chest during an altercation with an unknown male, but was able to run to the 6300 block of South Yale Avenue, where emergency personnel responded, police said.

First responders took the person to the University of Chicago Medical Center and he was pronounced dead, according to police.

No one was immediately in custody and detectives were investigating, police said.
