Summer-Like Weather and Temps Near 80 for the Chicago Area: Weekend Weather

It’s hard to believe the Chicago area was issued a frost advisory early Friday as summer-like temperatures are now in the forecast for the coming days.

Sunny skies and temps ranging from 63 to 69 degrees are in the forecast on Friday, and those temps are only expected to warm over the weekend and as we enter the start of the work week. Temps ranging from 7o to 76 degrees are expected for Saturday, while temps between 70 to 79 degrees are in the forecast for Sunday.

Saturday is expected to be breezy, and there is a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms overnight. The rain and storm chances will continue into Sunday morning but should wrap up early in the day. There is again a chance for rain and storms Sunday night.

Above-average warmth is expected to linger through Tuesday before cooler weather returns midweek. Highs will reach into the 80s on Monday and the upper 70s on Tuesday.

• Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening...then showers and thunderstorms likely after midnight. Lows in the mid 60s. Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 60 percent.
• Sunday: Mostly cloudy with chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.
• Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s.
• Monday: Partly sunny. Highs around 80.
• Monday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 60s.
• Tuesday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 70s.
