Voters Face Long Lines, Waits at Chicago Polling Places
ELECTION 2016: The early voting trend of big turnouts at sites continued on Tuesday's Election Day.

CHICAGO, IL — After the huge turnout during the early voting period, it's no surprise Chicago voters faced long lines and waits this morning when they arrived at their local polling places.
More than 1.5 million Chicagoans were registered to vote this year — the most since the early 1990s — and early voting in the city broke records with more than 350,000 voters casting ballots ahead of Tuesday. Election officials also expected an influx of same-day registration allowing would-be voters to sign up at their polling places Tuesday.
Chicago's 2,069 voting sites will be open until 7 p.m. Voters can go to the city's elections website for a sample ballot and to find where they need to go to cast their vote.

Besides the lines, there were also a few early technical snafus. Some voters were reporting voting machine troubles at polling places in Edgewater, Logan Square and downtown Tuesday morning.
