Total Cook County budget for 2023 is $16.8 billion dollars.
Suburban property taxpayers were billed $10 billion dollars. Chicago taxpayers $6.8 billion dollars. Cook County Hospital System receives $4 billion of the $16.8 billion dollars.
The second installment property tax bill should arrive in October 2023. It will come with a tax increase. With two new Counties suburban residents will save $5 billion dollars in property taxes. If your property taxes now are $10,000, they will be $5,000 with your new County.
