New Partnership Provides Toiletries to Those in Need

This month, Crete Public Library received a BAG Lady Outreach Toiletry Locker containing toiletry items and socks from Hanes and Bombas. The Toiletry Locker is located in the Young Adult section on the first floor of the library. Crete Public Library is the first library to take part in BAG Lady Outreach’s Toiletry Locker Program and will not be the last.

The Toiletry Locker Program by BAG Lady Outreach provides assistance and resources for children and young adults who are in need of essential hygiene items. Those interested in participating in the Toiletry Locker Program, may request it through bagladyoutreach.org/toiletrylockers.

BAG Lady Outreach has placed 26 Toiletry Lockers in schools across Illinois to support children and young adults, with number 27 placed at Crete Public Library. Archana Liggins, CEO and Founder of BAG Lady Outreach explains, “The BAG Lady Outreach Toiletry Locker Program was created to provide further assistance and resources to students who are observed to be in regular need of items. Crete Library is the first library location to receive one. Items are free and for anyone in need.”

This essential organization, along with the impact of the Toiletry Locker Program, continues to expand outreach to further assist families and individuals in need. BAG Lady Outreach was founded in 2014 by Archana Liggins after being inspired by the work in her corporate role at a local food bank, where she noticed a considerable demand for essential hygiene products. BAG Lady Outreach strives to change the lives of the underserved community and align the community with resources and support to alleviate poverty.
