PSC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Prairie State College is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with various events that are open to the public.

Prairie State College (PSC) is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with various events that are open to the public. All events will be held on the college’s main campus, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

A screening of “Latinos Beyond Reel,” a documentary about how Latinos are portrayed in the U.S. media, will be held from noon to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26, in the Conference Center Auditorium.

A vendor craft fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30 through Wednesday, Oct. 1, in the Atrium. Vendors will sell jewelry, purses, perfume oils, dresses, scented candles, shoes and natural herbal bath and beauty products and more.

A presentation featuring special guest lecturer, Diana Dills, owner of Global Fusion Home Décor in Homewood, will address “Fair Trade in Latin America and the World.” The lecture will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the Conference Center Auditorium.
