Seventh and eighth grade students from Chicago Heights School District 170’s STEM Academy presented more than fifty displays detailing various areas of study at a science fair held recently at Washington School.
Approximately150 people, comprised of community members, parents, School District 170 staff, administrators and school board personnel were present.
The projects displayed content encompassing the physical, biological and earth sciences.

The students conducted their experiments over a three-month period while concluding their project with a comprehensive research paper explaining their hypothesis and concluding results.
“It was a great hands-on learning activity for our students, as well as an enlightening experience for all of the attendees,” said STEM Director Nick Pezzuto.
