1 Critically Injured In McHenry Co. Crash
The collision occurred near Harvard. The driver was flown to a Rockford hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL —A 39-year-old Poplar Grove man is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash that occurred near Harvard late Thursday, authorities said. Authorities were called to Lawrence and Perkins roads in unincorporated Chemung Township shortly after 10 p.m. on July 2 for the collision, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
A preliminary investigation shows a 2006 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle FLHXI was headed south on Lawrence Road nearing Perkins Road when it went off the road and into a ditch. The driver was flown by helicopter to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford life-threatening injuries.
The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
