Coroner IDs Cary Man Killed In Crash
The motorcyclist was killed after driving off the roadway early Wednesday in unincorporated Cary, authorities said.

CARY, IL - The Lake County Coroner's Office has identified a 28-year-old Cary man killed in a motorcycle crash early Wednesday as Clayton Ruth. The crash happened when a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle traveling east on Fox River Road near Woodland Avenue in unincorporated Cary left the roadway at about 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, according to a preliminary investigation by the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The motorcycle then went into a ditch on the south side of Fox River Road and struck a utility pole.
Ruth, the driver of the motorcycle, was ejected, according to authorities. He was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington in critical condition and was later pronounced dead.
Preliminary results from an autopsy performed Thursday morning revealed Ruth died from blunt force trauma from a motorcycle crash, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said in a news release. Toxicology results are pending.
