1 Dead In Crystal Lake Crash
The male driver was heading south on Route 31 near Ray Street when the vehicle went off the road and hit an electrical pole.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A man is dead following a one-vehicle crash Monday morning in Crystal Lake. The collision happened at 7:24 a.m. when a 2009 silver Pontiac Vibe headed south on Route 31 near Ray Street went off the road and hit an electrical pole, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department
The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A portion of Route 31 was closed following the crash but the road has since reopened.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the McHenry County Coroner's Office and the Crystal Lake Accident Investigation Team. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620.
