1 Dead In Motorcycle Crash In Woodstock
A 69-year-old Genoa man is dead after a motorcycle ran into a car on Route 176 near Dean Street in Woodstock Saturday morning.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 69-year-old Genoa man is dead after a car collided with his motorcycle in Woodstock Saturday morning, authorities said. The collision happened when a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed into a 2008 Toyota Corolla in the 13500 block of Illinois Route 176 in Woodstock at 10:42 a.m., according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
The Toyota had just pulled off to the north side of the roadway to turn around when the motorcycle, for an unknown reason, drove to the north of the car and struck the rear passenger side of it, according to police. The driver, a 69-year-old Genoa man, was thrown from the motorcycle.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to Northwestern Hospital in Huntley where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the Toyota, a 31-year-old Lisle woman, was not injured, according to a news release.
The area Route 176 at Dean Street in Woodstock was closed for about 4.5 hours following the crash, according to authorities.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
