1 Killed In New Year's Day Crash In McHenry Co.
The single-vehicle crash happened in the 11100 block of Charles Road near Woodstock during the early morning hours of New Year's Day.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 24-year-old Harvard woman died in a single-vehicle crash during the early morning hours of Jan. 1, authorities said. The collision happened in the 11100 block of Charles Road at 2:51 a.m. when a 2007 Dodge Caliber westbound on Charles Road near Queen Anne Road went off the roadway and hit several trees, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.
The sole occupant and driver was wearing her seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The investigation continues by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation
Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. Toxicology reports will be pending through the
Coroner’s Office.
