18-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Puncture Injury Near H.S.

Authorities say the injury occurred late Friday night and the investigation is ongoing.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — An 18‑year‑old man was airlifted from the grounds of Johnsburg High School after sustaining a puncture‑type wound during a dispute late Friday night.

Police said the injury, believed to have been caused by a knife, occurred in a nearby neighborhood around 9:41 p.m. and prompted emergency responders to call in a medical helicopter, according to Shaw Local.

The man was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where officials say he is in stable condition and expected to recover, according to the news report.
