Man Critically Injured, Woman Hospitalized in McHenry Shooting

The early-morning shooting in McHenry is under investigation.

MCHENRY, IL — A man was critically injured and a woman hospitalized following a domestic shooting early Monday in McHenry. The shooting remains under investigation and police declined to comment Monday on whether they plan to file any charges or if they had brought anyone in for questioning, the Northwest Herald reports.

The two injured in the shooting, which occurred in the 5100 block of Home Avenue at 12:47 a.m., were taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry after they each suffered a single gunshot wound, according to the Northwest Herald. The 36-year-old man was initially listed in critical condition and an update on his condition was not available as of Monday evening.

A 32-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities believe the incident was isolated to the home where the shooting occurred, and there is no danger to the public, police said Monday.
