2 Injured In Collision Near Cary

The crash happened Thursday morning at West Main and Crystal streets in Cary.

CARY, IL — Two people were injured in a collision in Cary Thursday.

The two-vehicle crash happened shortly before noon on Thursday at West Main and Crystal streets, according to a post on the Cary Fire Protection District Facebook page.

A 59-year-old woman from North Las Vegas was driving west on Route 14 when she ran a red light and continued straight onto westbound West Main Street from Route 14, said Scott Naydenoff, deputy chief of support services for the Cary Police Department.

Her vehicle hit another vehicle that was driving east on Route 14, Naydenoff said.

One of the female drivers was extricated from her vehicle and airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center with injuries that are considered serious but not life-threatening, according to the Facebook post.

The female driver of the other vehicle was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Barrington with minor injuries.
