5 Injured – 1 In 'Very Critical' Condition – In McHenry Co. Crash
The collision happened on Thanksgiving Day in rural Alden Township.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL – One person was in "very critical" condition and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in rural Alden Township on Thanksgiving, authorities told the Northwest Herald. The collision happened at Alden and O'Brien roads, closing down the intersection for two hours, authorities said. All five people who were injured in the collision became trapped in their vehicle and authorities spent 25 minutes extricating one of them, according to the Northwest Herald.
The critically injured patient was flown by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Rockford while all the other people were taken to other area hospitals, according to the article.
