5 Teens Injured In Rollover Crash Near Lakewood

A 17-year-old Algonquin girl was seriously injured in the collision on Conley Road Saturday night and four others were hospitalized.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Five local teens were injured in a single-vehicle collision that happened Saturday night near Lakewood.

The collision happened at about 9 p.m. when a 2013 Infiniti G37 was headed west on Conley Road in unincorporated Grafton Township when it passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

The car then went off the road and rolled over, crashing through a fence and into a field near the 11100 block of Conley Road, authorities said. The driver of the Infiniti, a 17-year-old Algonquin boy, and four other passengers in his car were taken by ambulance to Northwestern hospitals in Woodstock and Huntley.

One of the passengers in the car, a 17-year-old Algonquin woman who was seriously injured, was later transported to a different suburban hospital where she remained in serious condition Sunday, police said.

Other passengers injured include a 16-year-old Dundee boy, 16-year-old Carpentersville boy and an 18-year-old Carpentersville woman.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
