Active Police Investigation Near Routes 31, 176 Prompts Roadway Shutdown

PRAIRIE GROVE, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office has shut down a portion of Route 176 in Prairie Grove Saturday morning.

There is currently an active police investigation happening in that area, police said. Authorities have shut down Route 175 from Route 31 to Smith Road, according to an update at 7:30 a.m. on the sheriff’s office Facebook page

Authorities said there’s no danger to the public and to avoid the area until further notice.
