Today's Weather

Skies are partly sunny across the far northern suburbs today with breezy conditions and seasonably mild temperatures in the upper 50s to low 60s. Conditions remain dry through most of the day, though clouds increase late as a system approaches from the west. Rain chances return overnight into Friday, with the potential for scattered showers and a few stronger storms by the afternoon.

Flooding

A Flood Warning remains in effect across portions of Lake and McHenry counties, including areas along the Fox River, Chain O' Lakes and Des Plaines River, due to ongoing high water from recent heavy rainfall. Minor to moderate flooding is expected to continue, with water levels already impacting low-lying roads, yards, and park areas in some communities.

The National Weather Service warns that river levels may remain elevated through the middle of next week, with additional rain potentially prolonging impacts.
