Crystal Lake Park District Employees Bestow Honors on Their Co-Workers

The annual Crystal Lake Park District Recognition Awards program gave district employees the chance to honor their coworkers who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty.  Employee of the Year nomination forms were distributed to all employees.  Park District Department Heads used a point system to determine the winner.  The nominees for Employee of the Year were:  Gary Grimm (Parks Department), John Fiorina (Nature Center), Pam Hanson (Preschool), Jacqui Weber (Marketing), Jess Day (Nature Center), Kevin Key (Parks Department), Linda Neamand (Business Services), and Mary Kay Kampman (Extended Time).   All of the nominees have gone that extra mile in their work duties, but only one could be chosen as Employee of the Year.  The Employee of the Year for 2011 is Jess Day, Nature Center Staff.  The nominating form for Jess said it all.  “Every day Jess comes to work with the attitude and desire to do the very best job possible and then succeeds in accomplishing just that. Proof of his dedication, effort and continuing improvement is evidenced by the numerous "High 5" nominations from both patrons and fellow staff members that Jess receives."

The public and park district co-workers both had the opportunity to recognize an employee for the Monthly High Five Awards.  From the monthly awards that were given during 2011, employees completed a ballot to select a Crystal Lake Park District High Five of the Year winner.  The top 3 High 5 Award Winners were:  3rd Place-Carolyn Martin, Mariano Lira and Nicole Corrales (Extended Time), 2nd Place-Jess Day (Nature Center), 1st Place-Park Services Department. The Park Services Department was nominated for their exception hard work and dedication in getting Main Beach cleaned up in one day after the huge storm.

We invite community members be a part of the Crystal Lake Park District High Five Employee Recognition Program.  Any staff/group member can be nominated any number of times, any month, by any staff, general public, participants in events, classes etc., for performance above and beyond the requirements of their job.  High Five nomination forms are available online at www.crystallakeparks.org in the registration section under forms, or at the park district Administration Office located at One East Crystal Lake Avenue.  Nominations do not have to be made on this form, if you wish; you may simply write a short note indicating why you would like to nominate the employee or group of employees.  Completed nomination forms/notes should be dropped off or mailed to the Administration Office.
