Binny’s Sets Special Hours For Elderly, Vulnerable Customers

Liquor stores remain open amid the coronavirus outbreak, and some stores are offering special hours for elderly and vulnerable customers.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Liquor stores have been deemed essential businesses in Illinois amid the new coronavirus outbreak. And in hopes of protecting the state’s more vulnerable customers, Binny’s locations have established special hours to allow elderly or immunocompromised customers to shop before the store opens for the day to the general public.

The stores will open for elderly and vulnerable customers from noon to 1 p.m. Sundays through Tuesdays and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, according to an email from Binny’s. And from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays through Tuesdays for the general public and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for all other guests.

Customers should check the Binny’s website and their closest Binny's for exact hours.

Binny’s is limiting the number of customers at a time and cannot allow people to congregate outside the stores.

“For the safety of our guests and team members, we ask that all practice safe social distancing and maintain the recommended distance of 6 feet while shopping and at the register,” according to an email from Binny’s. “We have emphasized with our team members the importance of keeping Binny's clean and safe, including washing hands regularly, and have instructed all team members not feeling well to stay home.”

Binny’s customers are encouraged to place an order online and pick it up at the store. Stores are not currently accepting orders by phone. Binny’s will offer home delivery through express.binnys.com.
